Du Nimmst Mir Die Angst

My sight is fogged
Asking myself every day how I may like to do
I don’t say anything, close my eyes, breathe in, count to ten
Breathe out eyes open
How should I be doing?

I have lifeless arms, the rifle is so heavy
Live ammunition is shot everywhere, but my magazine is empty
Champagne for whoever keeps the enemy at bay
The chess game a power play, the entire world a battlefield

But when worst comes to worst
My legs won’t get weak anymore
Because I finally understand again
Because no doubt creeps up on me
That the getaway car comes at the start
A call reaches you

You calm my fear, you calm my fear
My emergency light, my alarm, my ambulance
You calm my fear, you calm my fear
Not completely, but as much as you can carry
Only you calm my fear

I’m lying awake and the world around me in silence
Then my pupils immediately volunteer to widen
Walk around the highs and latitudes of this night
They’re sleepless times

You calm my fear …

No drugs and pills can really calm the waves
Heart specialists without saving substance
Only you calm my fear

And when worst comes to worst
My legs won’t get weak anymore
You grasped the extremes
And reached my heart

You calm my fear …
