A train on the lungs and the world seems to stop
I swore with every word that I want to stay here
With a finger on the trigger and my head looking up
We kept the sky above us in view

And we’re shooting with pellets and a shotgun
For a moment, red ink studs the firmament
Like a firework
Just a firework that doesn’t burn long

It did nothing to itself in all the years
We’re shooting at doves made of porcelain
An easy goal because it doesn’t need much
Until we forget ourselves and how good we were

Cable car window panes that cool the hot temples
Rather riot and scream than feel nothing
And while the overhead wire above us sparks
We spin laps around the sore point underneath

And we’re shooting with pellets and a shotgun
For a moment, red ink studs the firmament
Like a firework
Just a firework that doesn’t burn long

It did nothing to itself …

This war eats its soldiers up
Until analyses reveal
The supposed enemy aircraft
Were just doves made of porcelain
