Andie Genau in diesem Ton, Music Video, New Video, Video Comments Off on New Video: Neider Machen Leute (2017)

Jennifer Rostock released a new video on Facebook today, titled “Neider machen Leute (2017 Version).” Their caption for it is,

We should actually be rehearsing for the tour. But something was preying on our minds, so we want to let it out for a bit.
Old song, new lyrics. On with it!

These new lyrics focus on the “shitstorms” from the past year, and the full set of lyrics and the translation are already up on the respective pages.

Andie Genau in diesem Ton, Video Comments Off on MoreMusic Top 100 Songs of 2016

Jennifer Rostock have reached the Top 100 Songs of the Year 2016, or at least the list complied by MoreMusic. However, it isn’t just one song that reached their charts – it’s four of the singles from Genau in diesem Ton! “Wir waren hier” (#100), “Uns gehört die Nacht” (#42), “Irgendwas ist immer” (#24), and “Hengstin” (#4) all made it into the countdown.

Also, I honestly do not remember ordering anything, but I received a copy of the September-October issue of Volume in the mail last week, and there was a short “Album Check” for Genau in diesem Ton; I scanned and uploaded it to the gallery already.

“JRo have something to say and find exactly the right tone: Life is celebrated in hedonistic hymns, unquestioned in honest self-reflection and carved into pieces. Consumer craziness, racism or sexism are outplayed, just to open a beer the next minute, grinning, and to lunge euphoric into the night. Cheers!”

  • June 17: Porta Hoch 3, Trier, Germany
  • June 18: Kulturzelt, Wolfhagen, Germany

  • July 07: Zitadelle, Mainz, Germany
  • July 22: Piazza, Regensburg, Germany
  • August 12: Freilichtbühne Peißnitz, Halle (Salle), Germany

Jennifer Rostock have also been added to the line-ups for Hurricane, Southside, and Chiemsee Summer festivals for 2017; exact performance dates are still yet to be released.

Also, for one it’s nearly a month late, only a few days for the other two, but happy belated birthday to keyboardist, Joe; drummer, Chris; and lead singer, Jennifer!

Andie Band Update, Single Comments Off on “Keine Macht den Profis”

Jennifer Rostock are back with another Warm Feet for All donation campaign, this time with fellow band Grossstadtgeflüster. In return for a donation of any amount, you’ll get a code to download the single “Keine Macht den Profis” (“No Power to Pros”), which is a collaboration between both bands. The money raised will go towards helping the homeless in Berlin, as it did last year.

Andie Band Update, Genau in diesem Ton, Hengstin, Music Video, New Video, Single, Site Update Comments Off on New Music Video on Friday
Sorry for the lack of updates – I’ve been busy with school and personal issues. I won’t get into it any further because it’s entirely my own fault.

Genau in diesem Ton was released nearly two months ago, reaching #2 in the German charts, #4 in the Austrian charts, and #31 in the Swiss charts; it is still hanging in there in the German and Austrian charts. All of the lyrics (as far as I could read the lyric booklet) have been posted, as well as the translations.

And even better: A new music video and single will be released on Friday, October 28: ‘Hengstin!’

Andie Album, Band Member Update, Genau in diesem Ton, Stressen auf Rädern Comments Off on One Short Day…

Tomorrow is the day Genau in diesem Ton is finally released!

The Stressen auf Rädern club tour is already on its way to stop #3 – Berlin – after having begun on Tuesday. Some people have noticed a change in the band’s line-up from the two shows that were already played, but it was soon explained: The reason Elmar is on guitar for the shows (he’s usually backstage) is because our dear Alex is going to be a father soon! On this note: Congratulations, Alex!

In other news related to the tour, the setlist includes seven songs from the new album, three of which haven’t already been posted or played live before. It was posted on Instagram as one of those short-term videos:

  • Irgendwas ist immer
  • Feuer
  • Der Kapitän
  • Silikon gegen Sexismus
  • K.B.A.G.
  • Wir sind alle nicht von hier
  • Kaleidoskop
  • Deiche
  • Himalaya
  • Uns gehört die Nacht
  • Ein Schmerz und eine Kehle
  • I Love You, but I’ve Chosen Dispo
  • Wir waren hier
  • Es war nicht alles schlecht

There is officially just under a week until the new album Genau in diesem Ton is released! Depending on where you are when this gets posted, there’s either five days or six days (the latter is how long it will be for me).

Since the last update, two new videos have been posted by the band, and one is on its way: The first video is the lyric video to ‘Wir Sind Alle Nicht von Hier‘ with help from Silan Bekjarov and To Pedro, uploaded August 25. Earlier this week, on the 30th, a video of Jennifer and Joe performing a short song, ‘Wähl die AfD‘ (‘Vote for AfD’) was posted on Facebook; the song isn’t actually asking people to vote for the political party in an upcoming election, but rather gives reasons why people should not vote for them. Finally, the new music video for ‘Wir Waren Hier‘ will be posted sometime this weekend.

The video for ‘Wähl die AfD‘ has actually garnered a huge, negative response from AfD supporters, even resulting in Jennifer getting a threatening letter sent to her home address. It’s being described as another “shitstorm” reminiscent of the Böhse Onkelz/Frei.Wild issue a few years ago, in which Jennifer Rostock posted on Facebook that they do not want to see people wearing t-shirts at their concerts that have either of the two bands’ names on them, as both were known to have right-wing lyrics in their songs.

Also, I apologize for the lack of updates the past few weeks. I’ve been dealing with the loss of one of my pets, and had also gone on a week-long vacation with sucky Internet.

It’s official: The Stressen auf Rädern club tour planned for September 2016 is sold out, and there have already been reports of scams disguised as tickets that included VIP meet-and-greet passes. According to Jennifer, the band doesn’t believe in charging extra money for fans to be able to get to know them a bit, which is why they have autograph sessions whenever possible after a show and sometimes invite a fan or two to have a M&G.

However, the Genau in diesem Ton tour planned for early next year is already on pre-sale right now, and will go on general sale tomorrow. Speaking of which, a new music video is planned for release tomorrow, as well: ‘Uns Gehört die Nacht‘!
