Schlaflos Pt. 3

The cell phone’s ringing, pulling down the pictures from the night
the first glance is an act of strength
the varnish is chipping from the dream I had
full mailbox, Stilnox – ah, fuck

Last night reluctantly regretted
the empty bottles from the cheap thing
from the poison that dulled the calm
nothing goes when the will struggles, yeah

Oil in the fire is the driving force
vultures, barkers keep me awake
the noise drowns out the silence of the night
keeps the doubts in check – since 2008

Through the days without a place of refuge – keep going
for a night without a full stop – turn the clock hands
green smoke sings me slowly to sleep, sure
even asleep, I’m sleepless
even asleep, I’m sleepless
even asleep, I’m sleepless

I take the final train
it brings me away from here
and I ask myself, are you coming
are you coming with me?

Rainy season again and again – everything goes on, only the rain remains
propels me into the dry, where I stay for the time of my life
govern my life according to the rules that life writes
the question is if you live or merely stay alive?

Just one swig from the cheap stuff
memories strewn in shards on the floor
the picture processes like a Polaroid

Always just looked for the central theme
always just searched on dead paths
glances at the floor and ailing facades
looked for riots, but cursed the scars, yeah

Through the days without a place of refuge – keep going
for a night without a full stop – turn the clock hands
green smoke sings me slowly to sleep, sure
even asleep, I’m sleepless
even asleep, I’m sleepless
even asleep, I’m sleepless

I take the final train …
